Special Requirements / Certifications (Security & Low Voltage)
Applicants must meet one or more of the following, depending on assignment:
General Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in low-voltage and security systems installation
- Must be able to pass a CJIS background check
Network & Infrastructure
- Knowledge of structured cabling standards
- Experience with CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A cabling
- Fiber experience (single-mode and multi-mode) preferred
- Experience with LAN, VLAN, and WAN environments
- Basic to intermediate networking knowledge including PoEand switches
- Preferred certifications:
- BICSI Installer or Technician
- CompTIA Network +or equivalent experience
Security Systems
- Experience with access control, video surveillance, and in trusion systems
- Understanding of networked security devices
- Familiarity with NDAA compliance requirements
- Preferred certifications or manufacturer training including, but not limited to:
- Lenel / OnGuard
- Avigilon
- Genetec
- Milestone
- AxisCommunications
- Bosch
- Honeywell
- HID Global
Camera Systems
- Installation and configuration of IP camera systems
- Experience with VMS platforms
- Camera placement, aiming, and commissioning
- Troubleshooting video, bandwidth, and storage issues
Access Control
- Door hardware integration
- Reader types including card, mobile, and biometric
- Power supplies, relays, strikes, and magnetic locks
- Awareness of life-safety and code compliance requirements
Additional Preferences
- Manufacturer-specific certifications strongly preferred
- Interview with Security Team Lead required prior to dispatch
