Dave McAllen, 41, was recently named the new statewide training director of the Alaska Joint Electrical Training Trust, the largest apprenticeship program in the state. A 22-year member, Dave graduated from the apprenticeship in 1993 as a journeyman wireman. He has worked as a foreman or project manager on many large jobs around the state since turning out, and most recently was project manager over the construction of the new Mat-Su Regional Medical Facility. For the past year he has been a full time instructor for the apprenticeship program in Anchorage.
Vince Beltrami, 44, was recently named President-elect of Alaska AFLCIO. A 13-year member, Vince graduated from apprenticeship as a journeyman wireman in 1996; then worked as a journeyman, apprenticeship instructor and shop steward before being hired as an organizer at Local 1547 in 1998. He has served as the wireman representative from 2000-2003, President of Anchorage Building Trades Council from 2000-2003, Statewide Training Director 2003-2006. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism & public communications from UAA in 1991.
