Local 1547 represents nearly 5,000 Alaskan men and women in communities stretching from Barrow to Ketchikan in a diverse range of job classifications, from nuclear medical technician, to electrician, to librarian.

It is the mission of the IBEW to ensure fairness and dignity in the workplace, a fair day's pay for a fair day's work, and the opportunity to continue to improve the Alaskan worker's standard of living.
