Larry Bell was overwhelmingly re-elected
to the position of Business Manager/Financial Secretary receiving more
than 60% of the vote in a three-way contest. Im honored that the
membership has shown faith and trust me to charter the course of our
Local Union for another three years. My top priority continues to be
ensuring that our members remain safe and secure on the job, said
Bell.
North Pole
resident, Knute Anderson, was elected to his sixth consecutive term as
president. Our members have spoken. They are pleased with the way our
union is being run, said Anderson.

Local 1547 represents nearly 5,000 Alaskan men and women in communities
stretching from Barrow to Ketchikan in a diverse range of job classifications,
from nuclear medical technician, to electrician, to librarian.
It is the mission of the IBEW to ensure fairness and dignity in
the workplace, a fair day's pay for a fair day's work, and the opportunity
to continue to improve the Alaskan worker's standard of living.
